STUDENT PODCASTS
Over the past several years, I’ve worked with students both in and out of class to produce news podcasts and video.
In Fall 2008, my Introduction to Communications students produced TV news readers, PSAs and ads (the three concentrations of Salem State’s communications majors) on the subject of public health. View them, along with my 100-word reviews, by clicking on the image to the left, which links to YouTube.
Last year’s effort, by students in several journalism classes at a range of levels, was “Wrong Door News.” Students named it so because our classroom has two doors — one of which is blocked by chairs — and on any given day someone will inevitably try to enter using the wrong door. In 2006-07, students produced The Salem State LogVlog, a video version of the campus newspaper, The Salem State Log. The Vlog Web site averaged 15,000 hits a week; by the end of the school year, over 100,000 people had seen The Vlog. To view The Vlog, click on the image to the left.
